Former peasant organizer and now incumbent barangay kagawad were gunned down around 7 PM last night, June 20, by suspected state elements in Brgy. Mayang, Tubungan, Ilo-ilo.
His colleague, a Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson was also gunned down fatally.
The victims were Harold Tablazon, alias Bornok of Brgy. Ago and Glenn Bunda of Brgy. Tagpuan–both are from the municipality of TUbungan.
Harold Tablazon was active for years organizing in the Federation of Iloilo Farmers Association (FIFA), an affiliate of Pamnggas-KMP. His current work involves the installation of solar panels around Panay Island together with Glenn Bunda.
Thirty-two (32) 9mm empty shall bullets and six .45 caliber bullets were recovered from the crime scene.
Last April 30, Jory Porquia, was also gunned down in Iloilo city by unidentified assailants. He was one of the founding members of the Bayan Muna Party-list. He was shot nine times by four assailants in his rented home after providing relief assistance to urban poor communities.
His daughter, Krisma Niña Porquia, and 41 other colleagues were arrested while on their way to light candles and lay wreaths at the site of the murder.
Since the lockdown period has begun March of this year, several activists have been the victim of harassment, unjust detention, and killings, major of which are state-sponsored.
With the Anti-terror bill already serving its purpose of targetting those who are critical against injustices and corruption in the government even before making it into law, Filipino citizens have to be more vigilant and pour its opposing will to the oncoming disaster that the bill will bring to the country.
JUSTICE FOR HAROLD TABLAZON!
JUSTICE FOR GLENN BUNDA!
